**ONLY District Twenty residents have the opportunity to have their children, ages 3-5, attend preschool in one of our district preschools**

    • Highly qualified, licensed early childhood/special educators
    • 1:5 teacher/student ratio

    • Activities representing language, motor, cognitive and social emotional development

In the event that Academy District 20 has a two-hour delay, there will be no morning preschool classes.  Afternoon classes will be held at their normal times. 

Child Find 

District Twenty is responsible for assessing and identifying children who may have educational disabilities. District Twenty has professionals who are trained to evaluate children in a variety of areas, including cognitive functioning, physical development, hearing and vision, speech and language, as well as social and emotional development. 


Child Find is the process for assessing and identifying childen who may have educational disabilities ages birth to 5 years. Parents who suspect their child may be developing differently than same age peers or have delays in learning may contact our Child Find Coordinator, Kelly Cluxton at 719-234-1755.

If your child is selected to attend our preschool, you will need the following information to register:
    • Registered County Birth Certificate
    • Immunization records
    • Verification of residency
**Transportation is not offered**

We are still accepting new applications for the 2018-19 school year.  Currently all of our Academy District 20 Preschools are full and any new applications will be put on a waiting list until a space becomes available.


Please note:  Preschool applications require a $55 non-refundable fee. 


2019-2020 Preschool Applications will be available 1/25/19,

online and at D20 elementary schools

(Applications will be selected by lottery when the application is received at the Academy D20 Preschool Office between 1/25/19 and 2/28/19.  Applications received after this date will be put on a wait list)
